How Emblems apply
The current navigation placement wins first; then XO uses the nearest valid ancestor Emblem. A deeper Emblem overrides a broader inherited one. Canonical Subject names never change.
Use the existing navigation label override for short bubble labels such as “Ruby / Sapphire.” The Emblem supplies the visual branch identity.
